SB Finance Boosts Doctor Loans with New Deals

SB Finance is expanding its role in the Philippines’ health sector with a new Doctor’s Loan program that targets medical practitioners seeking both personal and professional financing.

Loan features aimed at doctors

The Doctor’s Loan offers qualified doctors up to PhP 3 million in multi‑purpose personal loans, with repayment periods that can stretch to 36 months. Interest rates are described as “competitive” and may be lower for customers who belong to Security Bank’s Gold Circle or Wealth segments, potentially reaching as little as 0.8 % per month. Applications require only a government‑issued ID, a completed form and basic financial documents, after which a credit assessment determines eligibility.

“We have a whole suite of specialized offers that doctors and other medical professionals can maximize to support their practice or even for personal purposes,” said Patrick Felizardo, Business Development Head at SB Finance. “The rates are competitive, and the process is made more convenient.”

Additional benefits and incentives

Beyond the core loan, doctors who qualify may tap into a range of perks from the company and its partner, Security Bank. The bank’s Gold Circle and Wealth Welcome Offers can grant cash rewards up to PhP 90 000 for opening and maintaining eligible deposit accounts. Moreover, the Wealth Referrer Rewards Program allows doctors to earn up to PhP 10 000 per successful referral, with no ceiling on total rewards.

These incentives are positioned as part of a broader financial ecosystem that seeks to improve doctors’ personal finances while supporting their practice needs. The program also includes referral mechanisms that let healthcare partners connect patients and colleagues with appropriate financing solutions.

Link to patient financing

The Doctor’s Loan complements the existing Patient Access Program, which currently operates in 66 partner hospitals nationwide. That program lets patients borrow between PhP 30 000 and the same maximum amount for hospital stays, procedures and related costs, with repayment terms ranging from 12 to 36 months.

“Healthcare is one of the most important sectors in the country, and financing plays a vital role in supporting both providers and patients. Our goal is to create solutions that empower doctors, while also helping patients gain access to the care they need,” said Ron Romo, Head of Personal Loan and OR/CR for Cash Sales and Distribution at SB Finance.
